DIY: Easy Natural Hair Oil Mix

Easy Natural Hair Oil Mix

Naturals know how important moisture retention is for our hair. Seed & nut oils or butters are great sealants for Kinky curly hair. They help retain moisture while giving  great luster and making hair more supple.

Below is how I make my Natural hair Oil mix.

I use this oil every night before bed to seal  the moisture in my hair and make it easy to style in the morning… It is also a fabulous oil to use for twist-outs and to moisturize the scalp.

What you will need:

50g  Coconut oil – available here

100g  Shea Butter– available here

50g Sweet Almond Oil– available here

20g  Jojoba oil– available here

Method:

Mix the coconut oil and Shea butter in a microwave safe bowl.

Melt the oils in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes.

Add the Sweet Almond oil, Jojoba oil and Olive oil to the warm melted oil mix and stir well.

Pour the mixture into a bottle and allow it to cool….It is ready to use….

NB: In places with cold temperatures i.e. Canberra the oil may solidify. In order liquefy immerse the bottle in hot water for 3-5 mins.

How to apply the oil:

Spray hair lightly with water. Apply oil mix to the hair ensuring the hair is well coated with the oil. Style as desired.
